Route 66 comes to Abergavenny!

Abergavenny is excited to showcase at Homes of Elegance for one afternoon only exclusive photographs of the worlds most famous road that is Route 66. Details are below:

We are pleased to announce our Route 66 exclusive gallery event!

Date: 1st September

Location: Homes of Elegance

Time: 12pm-4pm

For one afternoon only you are invited to experience the excitement of route 66 coming exclusively to Homes of Elegance. Indulge in the American dream by viewing stunning photography photographed by Richard Jordan. Homes of Elegance will be celebrating these photographs by holding an exhibition on Saturday 1st of  September with a chance to purchase your very own piece of American history.

Inspired by Nat King Cole's hit record in 1946 Richard Jordan travelled the two and a half thousand mile trip form the windy city of Chicago to the gloriously sunny California. These photographs will take you back to 1988 when Route 66 wasn't the icon that it has since become.

Starting life off as a trainee cameraman after finishing school in London, Richard gained a lot of experience in that sector. With the decline in the British film industry due to lack of funding Richard found himself having to find other work. being passionate about music Richard was offered a opening as an agent for such bands as Black Sabbath, The Police, Jools Holland and the Sex Pistols. The chaotic lifestyle took its toll and eventually decided to escape and pursue a career in photography which lead him to Route 66.

We hope you can make it to the event and experience the beautiful views of Route 66.
